The contributions to the colloquium will find affinity to the following topics in the context of oscillatory flow:

  • ORIGIN AND EVOLUTION OF GRANULAR PATTERNS
  • PARTICULATE FLOWS (accelerating suspended and dense granular flows)
  • INTER-PARTICLE MECHANICS
  • PARTICLES-VORTICES INTERACTION IN OSCILLATORY BOUNDARY LAYERS
  • ORIGIN AND EVOLUTION OF BEDFORMS UNDER SURFACE WAVES
  • SEGREGATION OF MULTI-DISPERSED PARTICLES DUE TO FLOW OSCILLATIONS

Contributions that exploit innovative investigation techniques or propose original theoretical approaches to tackle these issues are definitely appreciated. In particular, experts in fluid, contact and soil mechanics, mechanics of particulate flows, condensed matter and biological physics are strongly encouraged to attend the colloquium.
